graciee2 @ 7:33pm: So, I splurged and got a paid account with extra userpics. If you couldn't already tell, I deleted a bunch that were up there for years... and uploaded some much better ones that I adore! Have a gander :)

Tis all!

graciee2 @ 4:28pm: Both of the cats were DEFINITELY under the house. Leo squeezed out of the hole outside of the house on his own. Captain, on the other hand, was too big and fat. I ended up digging a hole down to help him crawl out. He was able to crawl halfway out and I had to pull him out the other half.

In a way, I felt like the hole was a vagina and was giving birth to Captain. I had to help the cervix 'dilate' by digging the hole. Then after the 'head came out', he got stuck and I had to use my hands, or 'forceps' to assist him the rest of way out. Once he finally came out, he was covered in all sorts of crap, and I had to clean him all up. His heart was beating, and his breathing was normal. ;)

Lol. ;) Can you tell that I've been reading up on natural childbirth lately?

Anyways, I feel so much better knowing my kitties are safe and sound. They're enjoying making our new piano their 'perch'. ;)

graciee2 @ 3:28pm: So, I'm really excited that we have our piano now. It doesn't sound too bad, for not being entirely in tune.

What I'm really worried about is Captain. I locked Captain and Leo in the bathroom so the guys could load the piano in without the cats getting outside. Well, Captain REALLY freaked out in there..... he manged to get through the little door in the bathroom closet which leads to under the house, I think... I have no idea how we're going to get him out of there, or if he can get himself out. I'm pretty scared about it.

Maybe he'll find his way out somehow........

Now Leo is gone too. Jesus.

graciee2 @ 11:15am: Our piano is being delivered today. We're getting everything out of the living room and cleaning to get ready for it. I'm very excited to get back into playing piano. I've been without one for way too long.

On another note, I never thought I'd enjoy the sound of banjo and mandolin as much as I do. I'd honestly consider learning one of them, or both. ;) ;) ;)

Anyway, back to cleaning :)

graciee2 @ 2:14pm: Well then!!!

I just received a call from Laurie (my boss) letting me know that she's giving me a raise! I am beyond excited. It was a nice surprise for me today, especially since I was feeling out of sorts before her phone call.

Needless to say, Nick and I are going out to celebrate after work today.

I'm not gonna ask you who sent the Nutella secret. I'm going to ask the person who I think sent it in; and if it's not them well . . . we'll have a good joke to tell at parties.

My doctor forced me into a c-section before his shift was over because he was tired of waiting on me. I knew it wasn't supposed to happen like that.

I have found solace on the ICAN website and mailing list. The women of that group have made me feel like I am not alone, that my feelings are valid, and they have given me the strength to do something better for myself and for my future children.

Saving someone from drowning doesn't make you a hero.
It makes you terrified that next time you won't be able to save them.

Subject: What secrets are.

I think that when we read other people's secrets in your books, on your blog, or at your events, we read a secret we didn't know we had or a new look on things and a greater understanding that we already have and it just takes someone else's story to have it awakened.

We can look at people in the streets and see something we wouldn't have and think, "Maybe it was that person's secret." and then we feel more connected to people by realizing that maybe we all carry the same secrets.

mom, i have seen what that job has done to you. i've never seen you so stressed and depressed in my life. honestly, if you went to work with a gun, i wouldn't blame you. sometimes, the way you come home so sad, i want to go do it myself.

how about we don't give them the integrity of dying by our hands? how about we just forget them?

come on, mom. let's do it. let's move to new york. i know this is all you've been waiting for; for me to say something.

you don't have to put up with their bullshit anymore.

it's ok, mom. i'm ready to go.

luvli_chopstix @ 7:32pm: I came to livejournal to write out my feelings...
But I've come blank.
I've been on this same window for the past 2 hours.
Typing
Erasing
Crying
Hurting.
I wish my mind would stop.
I wish i could fix one thing
out of the many to make me sane again.
But I can't seem to organize my thoughts.
Remember what I should be.
I don't want to make a reckless mistake.
Nor do I want to keep these problems lingering
and hurting me more.
I wish I had someone to talk to.
I wish I had someone to hold me.
I wish I had someone.

graciee2 @ 9:41pm: Duh.

It might be a good idea to mention how Jason is doing after his hernia surgery today. Apparently there were some adverse affects of the anesthesia and he was having a hard time waking up. He was only able to slightly shake his head from side to side and to point his finger when asked what his pain level was. They originally said he'd only have to stay 4 hours after the surgery, but they ended up admitting him overnight. The last time I talked to June around 7pm Jason had not improved.

Hopefully he gets better throughout the night. We'll find out in the morning if there are any changes.

(bite me)

graciee2 @ 9:29pm: The kids and I had a great first day together! June and Jason dropped them off at 7am and we started our day. Nick made everyone a really nice pancake breakfast. After I showered and got dressed, the kids and I ventured out and went to the movie store where they each got to pick out a movie. Our second stop was to pick out THREE toys each at the store, which was a special surprise. Our third stop, the least fun for the kids, was to Kroger to get special treats and food for them. It was a fun outing. Once we got back, Nick played with the kids a bit before work and we had lunch.

As the day went on, the kids ended up playing outside in the sand, planting some wildflower seeds, taking a bath, making cookies, having their favorite meal (mac 'n cheese and corn), putting a princess puzzle together TWICE, feeding the fish, watching some movies, and had a great time.

One of my favorite moments of the day was when Nick tricked the kids and told them that the reason he has so many guitar picks is because he went to a pick tree orchard, like an apple orchard, and picked them all himself. He told them that if they planted some picks they might just grow into pick trees. Kianna didn't buy it, but she eventually got some picks and wanted to go plant them with the wildflowers. Later on, she again told me that they can't grow into anything. I told her we'll never know until we try it!

We read some stories and now they're laying down for bed. I think they had a really fun day today, and I really enjoyed spending the day with them. :) Tomorrow, we have another fun day planned, including a picnic at the park, duck feeding, and putt putt. I think they're the most excited about putt putt. ;)

G'night.

graciee2 @ 9:24pm: I just biked five miles on the exercise bike. I feel so much better. I love how exercising makes me feel.

Today has been good. I worked until 2, then I came home and have been relaxing since. Just cleaned a bit, exercised, hung out online, ate, etc.

Only two more weeks until school starts up again. Very exciting!!! I still have to find time to pick my books up... Probably do that on Friday. I'm also taking Kianna and Kody from Thursday morning through Saturday because Jason is having surgery on Thursday. I'm sure Nick and I will have lots of fun with them, and they're very excited to come over.

I have continually made life hell for a man who used and then dumped me unceremoniously over five years ago. It's nothing physical - he lives in another state now - but he's been fired because his employers have received notes from me, his flight arrangements are often cancelled, complaints made to his landlord, his electricity mysteriously turned off.

Reading this card, I have decided to stop, because it made me realize that by not letting go, the only one I'm really torturing is myself.

Kurt Vonnegut liked to say of Isaac Asimov, though both of them were avid humanists, "He's in heaven now." I think Kurt, too, is in heaven now.

PostSecret Proposals: Frank's PostSecret Blog on MySpace

My wife and I were recently invited to a Wedding to be held at the American Visionary Art Museum. We don't know the couple. They invited us because of the groom's creative marriage proposal at the PostSecret exhibit and we can't wait to attend.

Here is their romantic story as told to me by Rebecca Hoffberger, the founder of the AVAM.

For people who don't know, most of the secrets are displayed along the side of a circular staircase that gradually rises to the third floor of the museum. As the couple slowly ascended the stairs she read every PostSecret postcard. He knew she would because it had been her idea to attend the exhibit.

What she did not know was that earlier he had made a special arrangement with me to replace the last post card with a special one he had created just for her see.

When they reached the top of the stairs she read the final card, "I don't know if I believe in God, but I believe something Great brought you into my life. If you turn around I'll ask you to marry me. . . "

Another PostSecret exhibit is currently on display at the Yeiser Art Center

graciee2 @ 5:57pm: After MUCH ado regarding the setup of our new cordless phone, I finally got it to work on my own. I talked to our phone provider, who was no help, then I talked to Uniden, the phone manufacturer, and they were of no assistance either. Finally I installed the Z-Blocker DSL filter extension to the phone line that was plugged into the modem and it WORKED, thankfully. I am beyond relieved!!!

graciee2 @ 2:50pm: So, Nick and I have internet AAAAAAAAAND a home phone now. Very exciting!!! Things just keep getting better and better.

I'm using AIM regularly now, 'cause I can. Still using Graciee2. We're also downloading like CRAZY everything under the sun. Right now we're getting every episode of Family Guy ever! I'm sure we won't have much of a life once that finishes downloading...... hehe ;) We also redid our entire computer and are running Vista now, which I'm enjoying. Windows Media Center is by far my favorite toy.

I also just downloaded Semagic again, so honest to god, I should be updating more here now ;)

A few more weeks until school starts back up again. I still have to get my books, which will be just over $300 out of pocket. I'm not very happy about it, but there's not much I can do. At least financial aid covered tuition in full.

More later, probableh.
